Brenna provides age-appropriate children's counseling in the Tampa Bay Area. She specializes in therapy with children ranging from 2-15 years of age, and offers a safe and caring environment for her clients. Therapy strategies include the following:

Play Therapy
Brenna specializes in Children's Therapy Only! This means you can be assured your child will be getting the special, specific attention of a therapist trained for the unique needs of children. Also, our facilities are specially equipped for children.
Play Therapy is ideal for children dealing with:
- grief & loss
- anger & aggression
- divorce or remarriage
- behavioral concerns
- depression
- anxiety & fear
- trauma
- adjustment issues
- social skills
- self-esteem
Parent Training (also known as Child-Parent Relationship training)
Brenna provides a 10 week course designed to help parents learn and implement the tools and techniques of a play therapist in their own homes. This program is broken down into 10 weekly 1 1/2 hour sessions. This training can be offered in individual or group settings.
In this training, parents will receive:
- All weekly curriculum materials
- Relevant video clips
- Personal training and explanation by Brenna
- Appropriate homework assignments to assist with processing and learning
- Feedback and encouragment
In ten weeks, parents will learn how to:
- Regain control as a parent
- Help your child develop self-control
- Effectively discipline & limit inappropriate behavior
- Understand your child’s emotional needs
- Communicate more effectively with your child
Group Play Therapy
Brenna provides this resource for parents of children who are struggling with their children's behavior in social settings. This can stem from something as simple as fear or shyness around peers or attachment to parents. It can also be rooted in something more severe, such as anger/aggression or children with a diagnosis on the autism spectrum (Aspergers, etc.).
Children enrolled in Play Therapy Groups will benefit from:
- Increased socialization
- Developing their world view
- Learning to self-regulate inappropriate behaviors
- Understanding limits (other kids are not for hitting!)
- Building confidence and self-esteem
Below are pictures of the playroom from left to right. The playroom includes all the appropriate and essential toys to conduct Play Therapy. All recommended categories of toys for Play Therapy are available, in addition to a doll family, drawing and painting easel, sand tray, and sand play miniatures. This is truly a fun place for kids to be!
